Holidays for hubby and I have now come to an end! We had two little trips away on our own, and this is just what we needed after the stress at the beginning of our holidays!
We spent a few days up at our property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We always really relax while we’re there. There’s always work to do on the property, but it’s all good fun as it is usually in preparation for when we move there to live. This time we started cutting down some trees to start clearing a house site. I wish I took photos to show you! Continue reading
Half the year gone already! June was such a mixed month for us here. There have been some highs and some lows.
Happy 1st Birthday to Eucalypt Tree! Can you believe it? When I started I didn’t know if it would be something I would continue or just let it fade away. I have to admit, I’m glad I stayed. I’ve enjoyed every bit of it.
I am trying really, really hard not to keep purchasing any more fabric or sewing patterns. Obviously I have absolutely no control what so ever when it comes to purchasing these things! Continue reading
I actually finished this gorgeous blanket nearly two weeks ago! With the business of life and poor photographic conditions it has taken me all this time to show it off! Continue reading
June already? This year is just going too, too fast! Must be all the fun I’m having. Continue reading
Some weekends you wish would never end. Occasionally I’ll have a weekend and everything just feels right. The ones which feel restorative and simple. Continue reading
I’m well and truly overdue in a little update on my Special Baby Blanket. I had been getting along really quickly with this project until we went on our little trip away. I had planned on getting all the rows done and all the threads sewn in before our return, but… Continue reading
Well hello! I’m still part of the living, haven’t completely gone off grid yet. I didn’t think I would be away from here this long, but life has been fun and sometimes you just want to keep enjoying what you’re doing and not come back to the land of the living! Continue reading
My special baby blanket is progressing along nicely. I spend most nights on the lounge crocheting a few rows at a time. I’m really enjoying this project and will be quite sad I think when it’s finally finished.
I’m about half way through it now. It is quite a large blanket, more a toddler size then a baby size. I like a blanket to stay with them into their toddler years. My two adult children still have knitted blankets they received as babies. One of them (the big girl) will still snuggle under hers occasionally!
We’ve been trying to have more balance in our lives this month and so far it is working. There’s nothing better than taking a little time out to rejuvenate your mind and body.
Hubby and I try to get out somewhere a little distance from home and go for a walk. This last walk was at Shorncliffe, a nice seaside suburb 20 minuets away from home with beautiful old homes to look at as well. A really peaceful area to go walking.
While on the walking subject, I’m trying to regain some fitness and loose some weight so have been incorporating more exercise into my everyday. During the week I get out on my own or sometimes I’m lucky enough to have the big girl with me. It’s a great time for her and I to have a good chat and catch up.
I’ve got lots to say about how I’m trying to reclaim my health. I think I’ll need to do a whole post just on that.
This is how I plan on spending a few hours this afternoon after my walk. Nothing like a nice cuppa and a new magazine to read.
Just for an extra photo to throw into this very mixed post today, we celebrated 22 years of marriage yesterday. I was presented with a lovely bunch of flowers. Oh, I do so love fresh flowers.
